Why Shouldn’t We Hire You
D. Endress & R. Venckus

Review by Steven Shepard, PT

Why Shouldn’t We Hire You has the intended audience of one preparing for the
interview but I found that the book is well suited for the interviewer as well. The
book stresses preparation as the key to a successful interview. Authors David
Endress and Ronald Venckus present the book as one easily read and very
informative to all individuals.

Why Shouldn’t We Hire You has two sections: Part One highlights preparation and
Part Two gives examples and resources. I appreciated Part One as it lays a solid
foundation in preparing for the interview. With a solid foundation one can enter
the interview with confidence. I particularly enjoyed Chapter Ten on
negotiation. This chapter gives excellent guidelines on every aspect of the
negotiation process.

Why Shouldn’t We Hire You does a great job outlining the interview process and
gives appropriate guidelines to follow to achieve a successful interview. The book
gives practical examples that are easy to follow. I will be using this book as a
reference for all future interviews.
