This career reference book removes the mysticism and relieves the anxiety that surrounds the interview process to enable the effective selling of oneself. The discussion,
unique exercises and techniques, as well as vignettes and resources guide the reader through the process of self-discovery and confidence-building and then on to using
the knowledge to create a stellar interview presentation. Information found on the Why Shouldn't We Hire You? is copyrighted under US law and is owned by the authors

Why Shouldn’t We Hire You

Review by Sandy Sutherland, Mortgage Broker
This is a well written book that would appeal to anyone who is seeking
employment. While is seems to focus mainly on the college graduate or seasoned
professional it also has advice which applies to anyone in their pursuit of
employment.
One aspect of the book that I found particularly useful was the section on the
Briefing Book. If you don't know anything about the company you're seeking
employment with then how do you know that that company is the best fit for
you? You can never be too prepared. (I'm reminded of an error in interviewing
that my former brother-in-law made. He thought he had thoroughly done his
research on the Kellogg's company when he went to interview with them. He was
fully prepared to answer all of their questions until they asked "What is your
favorite cereal?" On impulse he answered "Wheaties". The interviewer looked at
him and said, "Stab in the back!" (Wheaties are made by one of Kellogg's
competitors.) Dave luckily still got the job but learned a valuable lesson. One can
never be too prepared.)
Of particular interest to me in the book were the quotes at the introduction of
each chapter. They provided excellent, positive focus and I found them useful
not only in a job seeking mode but also as they pertain to everyday life. The book
was very positive about self promotion. If you don't believe in yourself how do
you expect anyone else to? I look forward to publication of this book and already
have a list of people that I would like to send it to.
