This career reference book removes the mysticism and relieves the anxiety that surrounds the interview process to enable the effective selling of oneself. The
discussion, unique exercises and techniques, as well as vignettes and resources guide the reader through the process of self-discovery and confidence-building
and then on to using the knowledge to create a stellar interview presentation. Information found on the Why Shouldn't We Hire You? is copyrighted under US law

Why Shouldn't We Hire You? by David Endress and Ronald Venckus is more than
just another "how to get a job" book. The authors build a road map that, if
followed, will lead each reader to the source of his or her strength - not just for
the next job but for a lifetime. Marcus Aurelius wrote, "Look well into thyself;
there is a source of strength which will always spring up if thou wilt always look
there." He told us what to look for; Endress and Venckus tell us how to do that.
Why Shouldn't We Hire You? has two parts. Part One tells us how to prepare for
an interview and avoid common pitfalls. Part Two "Coaches Corner" offers
practical tips and advice for implementing the theory presented in Part I as well
as ways to handle the results of an interview. I particularly enjoyed the "Coaches
Corner" tips on evaluating job offers. Having faced the difficult task of evaluating
two or more competing offers during my working career, I certainly wish I could
have had this resource.
Why Shouldn't We Hire You? is not a text book. Rather, Endress and Venckus use
the easy to read, conversational style of friends trying to help the reader rather
than instructors trying to teach the students. The book ought to be required
reading for all high school seniors and college students.
